Looking fabulous while breastfeeding is absolutely possible. However, you'll have about 30 seconds to work out what to wear, find it and put it on (hoping it is clean enough). With limited (no) time in mind, here is our three-point guide to smart nursing this autumn:
Priority one - a great nursing bra or three. For the first few weeks, pick anything that is comfortable and has plenty of space in it. You will need to get fitted again after baby is six weeks old so find your size for the next 6-9 months at least.
Next, a top with great access. Here some great nursing tops from us and some alternatives on the market this autumn:
Mama Basics double layer nursing top – 499 kr
Mama Basics double layer nursing top in soft cotton with a bit of stretch allows you to breastfeed easily while being discreet and, most importantly, comfortable.
We love the ease of double layer nursing tops because, although there are other options, such as zips, poppers, clips and wraps, the two layers make it very easy to get feeding started and keeps the top area of your skin covered – warm and out of sight!
Here are some other breastfeeding tops available this autumn:
|Sweatshirt from BOOBDESIGN 599 kr||¾ sleeved nursing top from MAMALICIOUS 449,95 kr||Layered tank top from LOVE COMMA $68.00|
We will be at UnderBARA Barn on 13-15 October 2017!

Lastly, wearing necklaces while feeding isn’t the easiest thing to do. Some people manage but hitting baby in the face with a bit of dangly stuff soon stopped us from bothering! An accessory or two can help you feel a bit more sparkly in this same-clothes-each-day period so what is the solution?
Nicole Balch from blog Making It Lovely points out that you may be checking the time regularly, especially with baby number one, so getting a pretty watch is the best accessory you can have. We thought that sounded like great advice!
We could continue with more ideas but you probably won’t have the time or energy to organise anything else. The best advice we have is to:
- Keep it simple
- Keep it comfortable
Smart nursing fashion is out there – get some great pieces then focus on feeding and enjoying your small bundle(s) of joy!
